Mother’s Day Brunch at the Sheraton in SF

12 May

I always get excited for mother’s day because that means we are going to brunch which is my favorite. Who doesn’t love breakfast and lunch.. together! So this year we decided to go to the Sheraton in San Francisco and it was incredible.

The place was gorgeous and there was soo much good food to choose from. I was sad that I got full before I could try everything.

Heres a pic of the paella. It was not the best I have had but it was still good.

There was a little kid’s brunch. so cute!

Plate #1: french toast, pizza, potatoes, scrambled eggs, bacon, chicken apple sausage, a croissant, an egg roll, paella, kung pao shrimp, a pork soup dumpling, and a shrimp dumpling.

Plate #2: strudel tart, turkey with gravy and mashed potatoes, raisin and nut muffin, and an assortment of sushi.

And on to the desserts!

Dessert plate: fruit tart, blackberry pie, raspberry cheesecake,  coconut cheesecake, brownie, white chocolate chip macadamia nut cookie, crepe with strawberries, and chocolate covered strawberries.

This was one of the best brunches I have ever had. Everything was delicious and there was so much to choose from!

Basque Cultural Center Restaurant

2 May

For my aunt’s 50th, she chose to go to the Basque Cultural Center Restaurant after hearing rave reviews from the tv show “Check Please Bay Area.” When we arrived, I thought it was kinda weird that it was located within a cultural center but I decided I would give the food a chance.

Not the prettiest restaurant on the outside. I have to admit.

First I started with the escargots. Although they were canned escargots, they were still pretty good.

For my main course, I decided to go with the vegetable pasta. It was okay. It tasted like plain cream on top of pasta. At least it looked good.

My brother chose the salmon. It looked amazing! But he said it was just okay.

Then for dessert, my brother and I shared the cheesecake which was not as good as it looks and the flan which was better but not exceptional.

Overall, I had a mediocre experience.
